What is PestPod?
PestPod is appointment reminder and text-to-book software for pest control. You load your stops, PestPod texts the customer their service date, they reply Y, and the stop is booked. No phone tag, no voicemail ping-pong. It was built by a working pest tech who got tired of chasing people down.
Who is PestPod for?
Pest control techs and owners anywhere in the U.S. Solo techs running their own routes, small shops with a few trucks, and bigger outfits that want a lighter way to confirm appointments. If you spend part of your day calling customers to say “hey, I’m coming Tuesday,” it’s for you.
How does a customer opt in?
Customers have to agree to get texts before PestPod ever messages them. They can opt in through the PestPod opt-in form or by giving their consent to you directly (for example when they sign up for service). No consent, no texts. That’s how it works, and that’s how carriers require it.
What do the texts look like?
Short and plain. Every message starts with “PestPod:” so the customer knows who it is. Something like: “PestPod: Your pest service is scheduled for Tue 10/27. Reply Y to confirm or R to reschedule. Reply STOP to opt out.”
How many texts will my customers get?
Not many. Reminders are capped at 2 nudges a month per customer, plus the replies to anything they text back. We’d rather send too few texts than annoy people.
How does a customer stop the texts?
They reply STOP and they’re unsubscribed right away, with one confirmation text. If they change their mind, replying START turns reminders back on.
What does HELP do?
Replying HELP sends back a short message explaining who PestPod is and how to opt out. Message and data rates may apply.
Does my customer need to download an app?
No. It’s plain old text messaging. If their phone can get a text, they’re good. No app, no login, no password to forget.
Is PestPod compliant with Twilio and carrier rules?
Yes. PestPod sends through Twilio on a registered and verified 10DLC messaging campaign for appointment reminders. That means a few rules we take seriously: customers opt in first, every text says who it’s from, STOP and HELP always work, and we don’t send marketing spam through the reminder line.
Do I have to change how I run my route?
Nope. PestPod sits on top of what you already do. You still run your stops your way. PestPod handles the “can you confirm Tuesday?” part so you don’t have to.
