Pest Control Reminder Text Templates by Season

Every season brings its own calls. Spring means termite swarmers and ants. Summer is mosquitoes. Fall and winter bring the rodents inside. The work changes, and the reminders should too.

Here’s a set of copy-paste reminder texts you can use all year. They’re short, they say who they’re from, and they ask for a one-letter reply. That’s what gets people to actually answer.

The ground rules first

Before the templates, a few rules every one of these follows. Phone carriers care about this, and so do your customers:

  • Only text customers who opted in. No consent, no texts.

  • Start with who it’s from. These all start with “PestPod:”. Use the name your customers know.

  • Keep it short. One or two lines. Nobody reads a paragraph.

  • Always include an opt-out. “Reply STOP to opt out” belongs in reminders. HELP should always work too.

  • Don’t overdo it. Two nudges a month is plenty.

Okay. Templates.

Standard service reminder (any time of year)

PestPod: Your pest service is scheduled for [Day Date]. Reply Y to confirm or R to reschedule. Reply STOP to opt out.

This is your workhorse. Use it for regular quarterly or monthly stops.

Follow-up nudge (no reply yet):

PestPod: Just checking, does [Day Date] still work for your pest service? Reply Y to confirm or R to reschedule.

Spring: termites and ants

Spring is swarmer season, and people panic when they see wings on the windowsill. Lean into it a little.

PestPod: Spring is swarm season. Your termite inspection is set for [Day Date]. Reply Y to confirm or R to reschedule. Reply STOP to opt out.

PestPod: Ants are on the move. Your service is scheduled for [Day Date]. Reply Y to confirm or R to reschedule. Reply STOP to opt out.

Summer: mosquitoes

Mosquito treatments work best on a regular schedule, so confirmations really matter here. A missed treatment means an itchy backyard.

PestPod: Your mosquito treatment is set for [Day Date]. Reply Y to confirm or R to reschedule. Reply STOP to opt out.

Gate and pet reminder (handy for yard treatments):

PestPod: Heads up for [Day Date]: please leave the gate unlocked and keep pets inside during your yard treatment. Reply Y to confirm.

That one alone can save you a wasted trip to a locked gate.

Fall: getting ahead of rodents

When temps drop, mice and rats start looking for a warm place to spend the winter. Fall is a great time for exclusion work and checks.

PestPod: Cooler weather brings rodents inside. Your service is set for [Day Date]. Reply Y to confirm or R to reschedule. Reply STOP to opt out.

Winter: rodent checks and inside service

PestPod: Your rodent check is scheduled for [Day Date]. Reply Y to confirm or R to reschedule. Reply STOP to opt out.

Interior service access:

PestPod: Your interior service is on [Day Date]. Someone 18+ needs to be home. Reply Y to confirm or R to reschedule.

Rescheduling replies

When a customer replies R, keep the follow-up just as easy:

PestPod: No problem. Reply with a day that works better and we’ll get you on the schedule.

What NOT to put in a reminder text

A few things to keep out of your appointment reminders:

  • Sales pitches. “Add a termite inspection for 20% off!” is marketing, not a reminder. Marketing texts need different consent, and mixing them into reminders can get your messages flagged by carriers.

  • Long explanations. Save the details for when you’re on site.

  • Anything that looks spammy. All caps, lots of emojis, sketchy links. Customers ignore it and carriers notice it.

Keep reminders about one thing: the appointment.

Making it automatic

You can send all of these by hand. But copying templates, filling in dates, and tracking who said Y gets tedious fast, especially in the busy season when you need it most.

That’s what PestPod does. You load your stops, PestPod sends the reminder, the customer replies Y, and the stop is booked. Opt-in, STOP and HELP are handled for you, and nobody has to download an app.

Copy these, tweak them for your area, and let the texts do the chasing.

PestPod is appointment reminder and reply-Y booking software for pest control techs and owners. Built by a tech, for techs.
